Tufting

In the tufting process, an electric needle or tufting gun, pushes the yarn into a support fabric. The yarn remains in the fabric by tension, but is ultimately finished with an adhesive on the backside to sustain its longevity. The final tufting is either finished as a “shag” style similar to fringe or small loops. I currently feature my tuftings as wall tapestries, though the process of tufting is originally made for carpet making. My current inspirations come from nature, the female form, and calming my overactive mind.
